I received my Masters in Biotechnology from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where I worked with Prof. Ranjith Padinhateeri and Prof. Jayadeva Bhatt in understanding the role of stochastic processes in the GAL system of yeast. Inspired by the ability of biological systems to show deterministic behaviour despite the omnipresent stochastic heterogeneity, I got interested in understanding the mechanisms underlying heterogeneity in cancer. In my PhD, I am investigating an aspect of the heterogeneity called Epithelial-Mesenchymal Plasticity, a developmental process with significant implications for cancer metastasis.
