Akash

I am currently pursuing my Undergraduate degree in Biology at the Indian Institute of Science. My
research interests largely lie in higher order cognitive phenomena such as attention and
perception, but also neural systems in general. However the applicability of techniques I have
learnt from different courses have picked my curiosity towards other systems biology fields as
well, and as a result I am currently working on analysing signal propagation in cancerous gene
regulatory networks and studying their relationship to phenotype switching as well as other
properties of the network topologies. Non-linear dynamics theory and information theory are two
of my most favourite topics to study about, and they have found application in almost every
project I’ve worked on. Apart from academics, I love painting, dancing and listening to classic
rock during my free time, and on days when I feel particularly adventurous I like coming up with
creative ways to climb tall buildings.
