Arnab Das
arnabdas@iisc.ac.in
Hi, I’m Arnab, a PhD student in the Department of Bioengineering. I have a background in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIIT Guwahati, and I am interested in exploring interdisciplinary research at the intersection of engineering and biology. My current research interests lie in developmental biology and genetics, where I hope to develop a deeper understanding of biological systems through quantitative and engineering-based approaches. Outside academics, I’m a footballer, writer and gamer 🙂

Arnav Mishra
arnavmishra@iisc.ac.in
Hi, I’m Arnav, a Bachelor of Technology graduate in Biotechnology from NIT Raipur. I am fascinated to explore how drug delivery systems can be used to better understand and treat diseases such as tuberculosis and neurodegenerative disorders.
Beyond the work, I’m a musician who loves to sing in different languages, and occasionally a volleyball player. I like to explore places and cities, enjoy trekking, and spending time by the beach—because sometimes the best experiments happen outside the lab too!
Works with: Dr. Rachit Agarwal

Smridhi Bhadra
smridhibhad1@iisc.ac.in
I’m Smridhi, working in Prof. Sanhita Sinharay’s Molecular Imaging Research Lab, with Ashok Sekhar (MBU) as my co-supervisor. I primarily work in NMR/CEST MRI imaging and the development of contrast agents for it. What drew me to this domain is exactly its interdisciplinary nature, it sits at the crossroads of physics, chemistry, and biology. Getting to move between these languages, rather than stay confined to one, is what makes the work feel alive to me. I completed my B.Tech in Biotechnology from NIT Warangal. Outside the lab, I like art and craft and reading non-fiction.

Sreenjoy Saha
sreenjoysaha@iisc.ac.in
I completed my Bachelor’s in Microbiology from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata (2021–24), followed by an MSc in Life Sciences, specialising in Microbiology and Host–Pathogen Interactions, at IISc (2024–26). During my MSc, I worked with Prof. Dipshikha Chakravortty on Salmonella–host interactions. I am now part of the Epithelial Mechanobiology Lab, exploring epithelial cell dynamics and mechanics. Outside the lab, I enjoy theatre, including scriptwriting, directing, acting, and styling.
Works with: Dr. Medhavi Vishwakarma
